Artist's Comments

The Red Panda, also known as firefox or lesser panda, is slightly larger than a domestic cat and an agile rock and tree climber. Because its primary diet consists of low-calorie bamboo leaves and shoots, it spends a good amount of time eating and sleeping. Its thick coat and long furry tail serve as insulation against the cold Himalayan climate. This species doesn't tolerate high heat in the summer and would prefer a shaded spot to rest during the hottest hours of the day.
